Puppies have special health care needs in the first few months of their lives, and we’ve developed a comprehensive puppy wellness schedule to meet these needs. In addition to the services listed below, PetCare will provide informative advice and suggestions to help get you and your puppy started out on the right paw.

Age 6–8 weeks

  • Complete physical examination
  • Initial DHPP vaccine (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus)
  • Oral deworming and consultation on intestinal parasite control
  • First application of topical flea and tick control
  • Discussion of health and socialization recommendations

Age 12 weeks

  • Physical examination
  • DHPP 2nd booster
  • Initial leptospirosis vaccine
  • Bordetella vaccine for kennel cough (optional)
  • Fecal testing (please bring a sample less than 6 hours old)
  • Initial dose of heartworm prevention
  • Consultation on the prevention of heartworm disease
  • Discussion of health and development

Age 16 weeks

  • Physical examination
  • DHPP 3rd booster
  • Leptospirosis 2nd booster
  • Bordetella 2nd booster
  • Rabies vaccine, rabies tag, certificate, and licensing information
  • Discussion of health and development

Next vaccines due 1 year later.

Age 20–24 weeks

  • Microchip identification
  • Surgical spay for female puppies
  • Surgical neuter for male puppies
